The Heavener Hall project was a 35,000 square foot building with a budget of $25,000,000. The building was designed to fit into the historic section of the University of Florida Campus and includes classroom areas, student commons areas, meeting rooms and a cafe. Craig Gulledge and Andrew Mitchell both designed the HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for the building. HVAC systems included high efficiency energy recovery dedicated outdoor air systems coupled with local chilled beams to deliver maximum comfort and controllability. The project is pursuing LEED Gold Certification.
